Marian Martens went to be with her Lord and Savior on January 1, 2022 at her home in Tomball, Texas. Marian was born February 16, 1931 in Cypress, Texas to Paul and Julia Froehlich. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Martens, April 1, 2001; her sisters, Bernice Bowen, Esther Graham, Jean Kimm and her brother, Paul (Buddy) Froehlich, Jr. She is survived by her daughters, Gail Curtis and husband, David; Nadine Reed and husband, Ray; grandchildren, Jason Coe and wife, Angie, Landon Reed and wife, Lindsay, Jonathan Reed and wife, Tammie and Daniel Curtis and wife, Brittany; great grandchildren, Faith Coe-Thornley and husband, Jarrett, Logan Reed, Heston Reed, Dalton Reed, Ralston Reed and Liam Curtis, step great-grand children, David, Jacob and Summer; her sister, Lorene Kettler and husband, Calvin, sister-in-law, Irma Kimmel along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Marian loved the Lord and she loved her church. She enjoyed being on altar guild and was very instrumental in starting the altar guild at Zion Lutheran Church. She wanted to make sure everything was just right for the church services and she especially enjoyed decorating the church for the different church seasons. She was a member of the Salem Ladies Aid and the Zion Willing Workers serving as an officer many times thru out the years. She also taught Sunday School in her younger years. Marian was a hard worker and she helped run the daily operations of the family egg farm and cattle ranch along with her husband, Leonard when they married in April of 1949.
Throughout the year, Marian enjoyed tending to her cattle herd. In the springtime she would ride on her gator and help work the cows. You could find her sitting on a tractor in the summer, mowing the pasture. You could pull down the driveway almost any day and she would be raking leaves, planting flowers, or her favorite, mowing the lawn. Everyone admired her work ethic and love for the outdoors, not to mention her amazing cooking skills. Many weekends she would gather the family together for Saturday Soup and Sundays it would be either chicken fried steak, chicken and dumplings, fried chicken, or pot roast. And, of course, who could forget her famous sweet tea. She loved her family with all her heart and she loved them unconditionally. We love you Mama, Grandma, and MawMaw and we will miss you. We are so thankful to God that today you are with Jesus and your sweet Leonard, what more could we ask for.
