Marian Celeste Denton- February 27, 1939-July 14, 2023
Marian Denton, 84, died July 14 2023 from complications of a stroke and rheumatoid arthritis. She was
an only child but is survived by two daughters: Donna Greene, who resides in CT with her husband David
and Pam Foster, who resides with her husband Larry in Houston. She is survived by four grandchildren:
Jennifer, Sarah, Sean and Cara and three great grandchildren: Joel, J.D. and Jayce. Predeceased by her
grandson, Ryan Greene, February 7th 2019 and her husband, Bill Denton, August 28th, 2019.
Marian, as a young girl, had a passion for animals, especially horses. She did have one of her own, we can't remember the name but he was so tall she needed a step ladder to reach the stirrups. She often told stories of her favorite pet turkey, "Tom" who disliked most people, except for her. She grew up with beloved German Shepherd dogs and had rescued quite a few cats and kittens over the years. She is survived by her cats, Patrick and Willow, they will continue living with family. She also loved nature.
In their younger days our parents would often take us to Galveston and spend the day playing in the ocean, digging in the sand, watching seagulls, ships going out to sea. One summer, we came home from a camp to discover a baby possum in a cage in her room. We took the possum to a lake, set up a tent and released him after sunset and left snacks for different critters out near the water
then went back in the morning to see what footprints were left behind.
In the late eighties, Marian and Bill decided to go to flight school and get their pilots licenses. They loved it. Took themselves on a couple long flights and enjoyed their accomplishment.
"As for me, I know my Redeemer lives and that at the last he will stand upon the Earth. After my awakening, he will raise me up; and in my body I shall see God. I myself shall see, and my eyes behold him who is my friend and not a stranger." Job 19:25-27
