Maria Gloria Rodriguez Ramirez
Obituary
It is more blessed to give than receive.
Acts 20:35
Maria Gloria Rodriguez Ramirez was born on April 17th, 1954 and passed away February 8th, 2025, at the age of 70. She was born in Alice, Texas, and her family moved to Lubbock Texas. She married and moved to live the rest of her life in Houston Texas.
Maria was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, friend and a beautiful soul who gave all she had for everyone she loved and cared for. Her smile and laugh lit up any room she entered. She loved being a nurse and would do whatever she could for her little old patients in the nursing home. She had endless enduring, joyful, and solemn stories of her patients she cared for.
Maria enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, sisters, brothers, and friends. Maria was the life of the party with a big personality, loving to dance and laugh.
Maria loved her profession as a nurse and retired from the nursing home where she was a charge-nurse caring for 80 patients. Maria specialized in wound care treatment, and after 35 years in the field, she happily retired.
Although Maria is gone, she will live on in our hearts forever; And the phrases A la madre, sugar baby, honeybun, and sugar pie will forever be synonymous with our mama.
Maria is preceded in death by her mother Manuela Garcia Rodriguez, father Jose Zapata Rodriguez II, sister Lydia Barrera, brothers Isreal Rodriguez, Richard Rodriguez, Rolando Rodriguez, and Joe Rodriguez.
Maria is survived by her children Felipe Rodriguez III and his wife Sonia Rodriguez, Brenda Ann Galicia, Lisa Marie Medley and her husband Ricky Murrel Medley; her grandchildren Roman, Sierra, Christian, Louie, Justin, Christina, Vanessa, Timothy, Felipe, Ethan, Leonidas, Brendan, Lucious, Nathan, Phoenix, Octavious, Ione, Niome, Xavier, and Tyberious; her great grandchildren, Emmet, Nicholas , Henry, Cyrus, and Brendan ; her siblings Angela Garza, Manuela Cavazos, Maria Urbina, Virgina Trevino, Robert Rodriguez, Simon Rodriguez, and Melinda Garcia. Her many nieces and nephews and her god mother Ernestina Martinez.
