Maria Flora Inzana (née DiRenzo), was born on September 25, 1933, in Newark, NJ, to Mary and Erminio DiRenzo. She spent her early years in Harrison, NJ, before moving to Kearny.

Maria attended Kearny High School, in Kearny, NJ. After graduating, she was employed at Bell Telephone, in Newark, NJ. Maria married her long-time sweetheart, Samuel Inzana, on July 14, 1956. Maria and Samuel were neighbors in Harrison since childhood, and practically grew up together. Over the years, they had remained dear friends with other families from the "old" neighborhood,

Maria spent much of her younger years raising three children with Samuel: Gary, Gregory, and Stephen. She helped put her husband through night school at Rutgers University. She was also a beloved "lunch" lady at St. Cecilia's elementary school - while her children attended there; and did office work at local businesses throughout the 1970's. Maria enjoyed snow skiing, tennis and swimming. She was active in a gourmet food "circle" with some of her dear friends.

The family moved to Houston in 1978 - Maria joined a ladies' club, and was engaged in her church, antiquing, book clubs, and other social activities.

In the late 1980's, Maria and Samuel moved to Williamsport, PA, for several years. In 1994, they retired to Wilmington, NC, and enjoyed the coastal lifestyle. They returned to Houston in 2003, to be close to their grandchildren.

Maria was a loving, caring, and active grandmother to her grandchildren, Michael, Amanda, Skylar, and Jimmy. She greatly enjoyed Bunko nights with her daughter-in-law Patty, and friends.

After a year-long battle with cancer, Maria passed away on September 11. During her brave fight, she always said that she can't complain, as she had lived a good life.

Maria is pre-deceased by her parents, her brother Richard, and her son Gregory. She is survived by Samuel - her husband of sixty two years; her sons Gary (spouse, Josephine), and Stephen (spouse, Patty); her brother Vincent DiRenzo (spouse, Marlene); her grandchildren: Michael, Amanda, Skyar, and Jimmy (spouse, Joli), her brother-in-law Peter Inzana (spouse, Jocelyn), and numerous cousins and friends.

Maria was a force to be reckoned with, and will be deeply, and sadly, missed by all.

Viewing service will be on Tuesday, September 18, 2018, 5:00-8:00 pm, at Klein Funeral Home Champions, 16131 Champion Forest Dr., Spring, TX  77379. Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, September 19, 11:00 am, at St. Ignatius church, 7810 Cypresswood Dr., Spring, TX, 77379.
