Margret Wilma Klar , 90, of Magnolia, Texas , passed away peacefully on January 25, 2025.

Margret was born on July 7, 1934 , in Cuxhaven, Germany to Hans and Emma Obenhaus.   She lived on her families farm close to the North Sea. They raised livestock stock, and sold smoked meats,fruits and vegetables . Her young life took place durning World War II.  During the war school was closed quite offen. A family of refugees from East Germany lived with them for quite some time.  Margret enjoyed spending time at the neighbors house where she learned to sew and knit.

Upon completing school she worked in a household then went on to work at the fish cannery at Cuxhaven's  busy fishing port .  She  met her husband , Robert Klar , who was in the US Air Force , stationed near her town.  They married and had two children while living in Germany.  They moved to the United States where they raised their children Michael, Cindy, Anneliese and Christa.

Margret worked for a short time in a hospital and then worked for Continental Airlines for sixteen years.  She sewed all of her girls dresses for school and also enjoyed knitting,  and crocheting.  Margret enjoyed teaching others. She taught quilting lessons and taught her daughters and grandchildren  to sew as well as friends and  neighbors.  Margret was also the Den Mother for her son's Boy Scout troop. She was an avid gardener and had beautiful flower beds.

Margret and her husband Bob enjoyed over 35 years living in the house they built themselves in Montgomery.  She was active at her church , and made many of the banners that hung in the sanctuary  of the church. She joined Lutheran World Relief and made mission quilts.  Her goal was to make 100 quilts a year.

Margret enjoyed traveling. She took many trips with her husband to visit family in Germany and visited several European countries. She thoroughly enjoyed the many gardens she visited in England.

Margret was a loving wife and devoted hard working mother. Margret was preceded in death by her parents Hans and Emma Obenhaus , and her brother Hans Obenhaus and sister Lenchen Krug, her husband, Robert Klar, her son, Michael Klar , and daughter in law Marlene Klar.
