Margaret Jeanette Wright Mitchell went to be with her Lord and loved ones on Saturday morning, April 22, 2017.
She was born on July 25, 1928 to Robert and Gertrude Wright in Fairbanks, TX. Margaret was the 5th born of 8 children. Ethelene, Norma, Flodene, Ann, Billie, Ellen and brother, Bobby, all preceded her in death. She was the last survivor of the original Wright clan.
Margaret was married to Travis Mitchell on June 1, 1946 after 2 months of courtship! She lost Travis to cancer in 2011, and their 7 year old son, Bob in 1956.
Margaret attended Klein High School, then moved to Houston, where she worked for Richer Jewelry Company. Once she married Travis, she soon became an "oilfield" wife, living in the oilfield boom times in New Iberia and Lafayette, Louisiana until they were transferred back home to Houston and family. In 1969, they built their final home at Tri Lake Estates in Montgomery, TX where they lived until the Lord took them to their heavenly home.
Margaret is survived by her children, Bill and Karen Mitchell, Diane and Buddy Lane, and Leslie nad Duane Barrett. She cherished her grandchildren, Beth, Debby, Donna, Steve, Glynda, Drew, Matthew, Sam and Lauren, who blessed her with10 great-grandchildren and 4 great great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held at 10:00am at Klein Funeral Home, 1400 W Main Street, Tomball, TX 77375 on Friday, April 28. 2017, with visitation from 9:00 to 10:00 am prior to the service. Pallbearers will be Steve Mitchell, Drew Lane, Matthew Barrett, Samuel Barrett, Buddy Lane and Duane Barrett.
The family would like to express a loving thank you to Mom's caregivers Sandy DeWeese, Jaime DeWeeae, Regina Shannon, nurses Terri Woodard, Tawny Evans, Dr. Shane Simpson, Traditions Healthcare and Comfort Keepers, and special neighbors Charles and Linda McBride.
