Margaret Faye Novakoski Tate, "Sis" went home to Jesus, Mary, the Saints and the Angels on January 21, 2026 at the age of 76.  She told the nurse early in the day she was ready to go home.  She was surrounded by her family in prayer all day.   She received the Annointing of the Sick by Father Christian Bui.  Her passing was the most peaceful, which was such a blessing for all.

Born February 3, 1949, in Orange, TX, Margaret was raised in the faith and remained a steadfast Catholic her entire life. She attended daily Mass, when possible, prayed the Rosary faithfully, and found deep joy in adoration before the Blessed Sacrament. A longtime parishioner of St. Anne's in Tomball, she was active in the Catholic Daughters and always witnessing to Christ's love through her gentle spirit and tireless service. A highlight of her life was a pilgrimage to Lourdes, France where she visited many holy sites   She was proud of her Polish heritage and always loved Saint Pope John Paul II the Great.  God gave her a gift of a green thumb and she was an avid gardener with the most beautiful greenhouse flowers and African Violets plants she grew under UV lights.  She also loved fishing and could regularly outfish everyone in her prime and her homemade hush puppies were delicious.  Margaret cherished her role as wife, mother, protector, and grandmother, instilling Catholic values in her family. She is survived by her sons and their spouses Clint and Stacie Tate, and Wes and Cindy Tate.  She is also survived by her grandchildren Anna Pepper and her husband Joseph Pepper, Sophia, Joseph, Mary and Ryan Tate.  She is survived by her grandsons Aaron and Evan Salinas.  She is survived by her sister Dorothy "Aunt Mae" Johnston and her husband Robert Thomas "Uncle Tom" Johnston.   Margaret could never have asked for a more loving sister and brother in Aunt Mae and Uncle Tom.

She is preceded in death by her devoted husband of 26 years James "Bud" Barry Tate "Dad", VFW, who passed away at the young age of 53; her father Marian Lawrence "Pawpaw" " Shorty" Novakoski, VFW, and her loving, saintly mother Margaret Christine "Maw-maw" "Wishkoski" Novakoski.

The visitation and Rosary will be held at Klein Funeral Home in Magnolia, TX on 1/28/26 from 5 – 8pm with the Rosary starting at 6:30pm. The funeral mass will be on 1/29/26 at 10:30am at Saint Edwards's Catholic Church in Spring, TX with visitation one hour before.   The private graveside service will be at Plainview Cemetery at 2pm 1/29/26 in Normangee, TX .  She will be buried next to her husband and our loving long-time missed patriarch, Bud Tate.

May Margaret's soul and the souls of all our family and the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. May the perpetual light shine upon them.  And may the divine assistance remain always with them.  Amen.
