Margaret Lou Burke Williams, passed peacefully from this life on February 2 ^nd , 2020 at home, in the Woodlands, Texas with her children. She was born Margaret Lou Burke on august 31 ^st , 1927 to Donald and Lenora Ward Burke in Tillman County Oklahoma. She was the second of five children and is survived by her oldest brother, Donald Ray Burke of Channelview, Texas. She is preceded in death by her parents, brother, Roger Burke, sisters, Maryann Tinker, Ruth Mercer, eldest son, Stephen Gail Williams and her beloved husband, B. Gail Williams.

Margaret is survived by her beloved children, sons and daughter, Mark Williams and wife Dolores of Shenandoah, Texas; David Williams, of The Woodlands, Texas; Michael Williams and wife Shirley of Bridge City, Texas; and LuAnne Williams Holub and husband A.J. of Montgomery, Texas. Other survivors include seven grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Margaret's childhood was spent on the family farm in Tillman County, near Davidson, Oklahoma. The family moved to Jacinto City, Texas where she graduated from Galena Park High School.

On September 17 ^th , 1948 she was married to B. Gail Williams of Houston, Texas. Together they raised 5 children as Gail attended Seminary and through the early years of their ministry. Margaret later attended college and graduated, Summa Cum Laude from Lamar University in 1972 with a Bachelor's Degree in Education. She taught for 25 years in the Bridge City and Cypress Fairbanks schools.

She served as a pastor's wife for 69 years and was involved in the United Methodist Women's Group of numerous churches throughout their ministry as well as a Sunday School Teacher and member of the church choir.

After her retirement as a school teacher, she spent her time with her husband Gail, their children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved reading and telling stories, gardening and cooking. Through all of her life, Margaret showed by example, the power of love, the rewards of patience and the strength of faith.

Wife, Mother, Teacher, Margaret has touched the lives of thousands of students, friends, and neighbors throughout her life. She was loved by many, and will be missed by all.

A memorial service will be held at 1 pm on Tuesday, February 18, 2020 at The Woodlands United Methodist Church in the Robb Chapel, 2200 Lake Woodlands Dr., The Woodlands, TX 77380
