Marcie Rose Owen Ackley was born on July 5, 1966, in Los Angeles, California, to her inspiring and amazing parents, Candy Carreón and Clarence Owen. After graduating high school she decided to move to Texas where she immensely impacted many lives with her astoundingly pure and kind heart. She married and had her daughter, Kaitlyn Victoria Ackley, followed by her perfect and strong-willed son, Thomas W Ackley III. She lovingly lived her life as a stay-at-home mom taking care of her family. In her free time, she sewed and smocked impressively beautiful masterpieces. She loved attending church, music, singing, her friends, her family, reading, learning new things, yellow roses, animals, dancing, helping out others, and so much more. She was beautiful and inspiring inside and out. When her children were 10 and 8 years old, she devastatingly lost her father to cancer, as well as unexpectedly becoming a single parent.

She was a single mom with no job or college degree trying to figure out how to provide for her daughter and special needs son. With no prevail, she went to college and received her RN. She loved going to school. Nothing could stop her once she set her mind to it. She worked and was talented in a vast majority of nursing departments and fields (home health, endoscopy, wound care specialist, etc.) Off the clock, she still worked as a nurse taking care of her son with Spina Bifida. She was a spectacular nurse and even more spectacular mother to her children. She was, and will always be, the best mother in the world. She cared for and loved everyone and everything (even the fur babies that easily got adopted into the family). She loved and cherished her relationship with her son and daughter (Malachi and Michalah Caughey).

She was diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer in November of 2017 which later metastasized to the uterus. She fought tirelessly and was in remission for a joyous moment until she got the heartbreaking news that it had spread to her peritoneum. Her strength and fight never dwindled. While receiving treatment, she never ceased working as an RN at St. Joseph's Medical Center and even decided to continue her education online to receive her Masters of Science in Nursing Leadership and Management. To nobody's surprise, she accomplished her goal and in November of 2021, she walked the stage with her graduating class and received her prestigious degree. A week later she got the call that her cancer had metastasized to her liver. She fought with everything in her being to prove it would not defeat her. I truly believe that her love and devotion to God and her family is what fueled her. She knew that with our Heavenly Father, she would win the fight. God knew how much suffering she had endured here in our temporary home though. He had better plans for her. He called her home on June 17, 2022, to provide her with the love, comfort, and peace that she deserved and was meant to possess. I believe she did win. She won the most precious gift any of God's children could ask for. To be at home with our Heavenly Father.
