Marcia Milelie Waldbillig, 83, of Houston, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 25, 2026.

Throughout her life, Marcia brought light and love wherever she went. Always positive and cheerful, she saw the best in every situation and in everyone. A lover of wordplay, she enjoyed puns and a clever turn of phrase and was an accomplished poet.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Dr. Ronald Waldbillig earlier this year, and by two sons, Michael Jon Waldbillig in 1962 and David Charles Waldbillig in 1983. She is survived by a son, Tim Waldbillig, of Houston; two brothers-in-law, Dr. Robert Waldbillig and Carl (Anne) Waldbillig, both of Michigan; several nieces and nephews; and many more family and friends who loved her.

Marcia was retired from the University of Texas Medical Branch, where she worked with Nobel Prize winning internist and researcher Dr. Ferid Murad. She also was a devoted volunteer at Texas Children’s Hospital for many years.

She was a devout Christian, and she and Ron worked tirelessly with The Gideons International to spread the gospel around the world. She also led a Bible Study Fellowship through BSF International.

Marcia’s way of sharing her Christianity was gentle and soft-spoken. She could talk to strangers in a way that instantly made them feel welcome. She always had time for others, living every day as a witness to her faith and a guiding light for all.
