Marcia Hurn Boling nee Smith died peaceably on Saturday, September 28, 2019 at the age of 99 years old. Marcia was born in Spokane, Washington, the daughter of Clay Rollin Smith and Alice Loretta Smith nee Hurn. She was married for 53 years until the death of her husband, Gordon Christman Boling on November 11, 1999.

She attended the University of Arizona and Northwestern University where she graduated with a B. S. degree in Mathematics. She spent her WWII years as an Assistant Engineer for the Illinois Bell Telephone Company. Upon marriage, Marcia and Gordon lived in Ohio, Michigan, Connecticut, Vermont, Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay, Italy and Texas until his retirement from General Motors. When Gordon retired, they moved to Rockport, TX and after Gordon became ill, they moved to Corpus Christi, TX. Marcia moved to Spring, TX to be closer to her daughter, Cathy, for her final years.

Marcia was an active Clubwoman and church member during her life. Marcia sang in church choirs, played in bell choirs, acted in church plays. Marcia served as the President of the American Women's Association of Rome, Italy and as President of the North Woodward Kappa Kappa Gamma Alumnae Association, where she received her 75-year membership pin. She was an avid bridge player, both party bridge and duplicate bridge.

She was an enthusiastic traveler and visited well over 100 countries and frequently presented programs telling of her travels throughout the world.

She is survived by her three children and their spouses, 10 grandchildren and their spouses and 27 great grandchildren, with one more due in January of 2020.

Goodbye my friends, don't grieve for me.

I'm following the path God laid for me.

I took his hand when I heard his call,

I turned my back and I left it all.

I could not stay another day

to laugh, to love, to work or play.

Tasks left undone must stay that way.

I've found that peace at the close of day.

If my parting has left a void

Then fill it with remembered joy.

A friendship shared a laugh a kiss

Ah yes, these things I too will miss.

Be not burdened with times of sorrow.

I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow.

My life's been full, I savored much

Good friends, good times, a loved ones touch.

Perhaps my time seemed all too brief

Don't lengthen it now with undue grief.

Lift up your heart and share with me

God wanted me now, he set me free.
