Manuel Villarreal, a longtime resident of Spring/Splendora passed away on July 25th at the age of 76 with his dearly loved daughters, Ashley and Alana at his side.

Manuel was born to Aurora and Raymundo Villarreal on July 23rd, 1947 in Del Rio, Texas. Following high school in Eagle Pass, he received an Associates degree of general education from Southwest Texas Junior College in Uvalde. Manuel served in the United States Navy as a postal clerk from 1969 to 1974 during the Vietnam War, including service on the aircraft carrier USS Bennington. Manuel was a talented field estimator and dedicated employee of Wisenbaker Builder Services for 45 years. He was a loyal friend to many and his friends made over the years at Wisenbaker were a second family.

Manuel was a skilled hunter and an excellent shot throughout his life, skills learned and practiced on the Villarreal Ranch in Quemado, Texas. In his spare time he enjoyed going to the deer lease, fishing, or golfing. He was a master of barbequing, hot sauce, deer sausage, and most importantly making food to share with his friends and family. Manuel will be remembered for his stubbornness and doing things his way. Everyone that knew him has a story to tell where he was as stubborn as a mule, and this never changed! This being said, he was a hard worker and always put the needs of others before his own. Manuel will be dearly missed and always remembered by those who knew him.

Manuel is survived by daughters Ashley (Villarreal) Baugh, Alana Villarreal, and former wife Donna Schultz; grandchildren Darcy Baugh, Ethan Baugh and Margo Clippinger. Seventh of eight children, Manuel is survived by siblings: Ray Villarreal, Lala Smith, and Tina Gomez. Robert Villarreal, Lilly Andrade, Ovie Davis and Chon Villarreal are predeceased siblings.

There will be an urn committal with Military Honors at Houston National Cemetery, @ 12:45PM, Friday August 4, 2023.

Memorial service will take place at Klein Funeral in Tomball, on Friday August 4th at 2:30pm. In lieu of flowers the family appreciates memorial donations to Hunters for the Hungry in Manuel's name.
