Mammie Marie Mason McCall was born 6 miles east of Mill City, Oregon on July 13th, 1930, and passed from this life on October 14, 2021, at the age of 91 in Brenham, Texas. Marie was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth H. McCall; parents, Lester Franklin Mason and Lora Augusta Farrington Mason; sister, Trudy Rask; granddaughter, Mary McCall Adamek and Mary's husband, Steve Adamek; and daughter-in-law, Alice McCall. Ken and Marie were married 67 years.
Marie is survived by her sons: Michael McCall and wife, Karen, of Hempstead, Texas; Steve McCall of Universal City, Texas; and Kenneth T. McCall and wife, Sherrie, of Hempstead, Texas.
She is further survived by 10 grandchildren: Lisa Killough and husband, Brent, of Cypress, Texas; Scott McCall and wife, Ginger, of Granbury, Texas; Andrew McCall and wife, Karla, of Abilene, Texas; Shannon Pendergrass of Houston; Amy Long and husband, Richard, of Midland, Texas; Kelle McDougall and husband, Greg, of Cypress, Texas; Cody McCall of Amarillo, Texas; Eric McCall and wife, Jena, of Magnolia, Texas; Amanda McCumber and husband, Tim, of Cypress, Texas; and Kenneth E. McCall and wife, Victoria, of Weatherford, Texas.
Marie is also survived by 24 great grandchildren and 7 great-great grandchildren. The great grandchildren are Elizabeth Killough McLeckie, Jonathan Killough, Timothy Killough, Bailey McCall, Avery McCall, Allison McCall, James McCall, Troy Cash McCall, Mishele Irving, Chase Briggs, Tandy Plant, KC McCall, Caitlin McCall, Cameron McCall, Abigail McCall, Hunter Long, Connor McDougall, Nathan McCall, Eric McCall, Daniel McCumber, Nolan McCall, Samantha McCall, Mitchell Adamek and Allison Adamek. The great-great grandchildren include Brazon Irving, Shelby Irving, Galex Irving, Trinity Plant, Adonis Plant, Noah Briggs, and Rivee Sue McCall.
When Marie was 9 years old, she tragically lost her mother to a brain aneurysm. Her father remarried, and Marie's step-mother Gladys ran the local telephone office in their home. Marie worked some of that time as a telephone operator. Marie graduated high school in Mill City, Oregon on May 29, 1947. She met the love of her life, Ken McCall, and they were married on April 16, 1948, in Salem, Oregon. Together they were blessed with 3 loving sons. Marie and Ken's life together included living in Oregon, New Mexico, Arizona, Washington, and Texas. Most of their married life Marie was a homemaker. However, for a 5-year period from 1959 to 1964, Marie ran the milk room at the family dairy in Carlsbad, New Mexico, bottling and selling milk produced on the dairy. While living in Washington State, she had a job at a Boeing Plant in Renton, Washington. After moving to Houston, Marie worked selling real estate for a period of time.
Ken and Marie were faithful members of the Jersey Village Church of Christ before his death.
Marie always enjoyed cooking for her family, movies and popcorn, the company of her dogs, and especially any time spent with her extended family.
