Madge Marie (Spaulding) Wagner
(April1, 1932 – September 12, 2026)
Madge (Midge) M Wagner, 94, of Spring Texas, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on September 12, 2026. She was born in St Bernice, Indiana on April 1, 1932. She was raised in Terre Haute, Indiana where she attended Wiley High School.
She attended Lilly Jolly School of Nursing in Houston, Texas where she met the love of her life – Richard Wagner who at the time was a vicar at Trinity Lutheran Church. They were married on September 5th, 1953.
Richard’s first call was to Cloverdale, California. They subsequently served Pilgrim Lutheran Church in Bellevue, Washington and ended up back at Trinity. During this time Midge served as a registered nurse and raised their 6 children. After retirement, she helped serve as interim servants at various churches throughout Texas and Alaska. She enjoyed serving with her “cookie ministry” – when Richard would make calls, he always brought Midge’s homemade cookies.
Midge loved her family and friends and lots of laughter but above all she loved her Lord Jesus Christ.
She is survived by her children: Taby Perkovich; Matt and Kathy Wagner; Cody and Ken Mohnke; Johanna Gravesmill and Tim Jenkins; Marta and Roy Scarpato; and Christina and Kevin Putman.
She was very proud of her grandchildren – Bradley, Jessie, Kim, Alea, Travis, Colt, and Harley; Devin; Michelle, Max, and Daniel; Seth, Jared, and Karissa; Shayne, Luke, and Sam; and Preston and Hannah and all of their spouses whom she welcomed into her family. She was blessed with many great-grandchildren.
She will be deeply missed by family and friends. Many remember how she signed her letters and would want everyone to “stay close to Jesus”
