Loving mother, wife, sister, friend, Lupita Galvan Downs, 76, of Corpus Christi, Texas, passed away on Jan 12, 2022 surrounded by loved ones.
Lupita Downs was born on July 11, 1945 to Regino and Petra Galvan in Leon Guanajuato, Mexico. She was a devout Catholic who followed her faith in Christ throughout her life. She had numerous hobbies, loved gardening, dancing, and was a loving friend to anyone who met her.
One of her professional accomplishments included being a real estate agent. Along with being a real estate agent, the highlight of her career was serving as a delegate for the Democratic party of Texas under President Clinton. There she had the opportunity to meet President Clinton, drive the Presidential motorcade and received a personal guided tour of Air Force One
In 1971 she wed her beloved husband of 42 years, Arthur Downs, and together they raised five children, James, Daniel, Teresa, William, and Arthur II. Their love of dance led Lupita and Arthur to many social dance parties which they immensely enjoyed.
Lupita dedicated her life to being a loving wife, mother and fantastic grandmother.
Lupita is predeceased by her parents, her husband Arthur Downs, 5 brothers and 6 sisters, and son Daniel Downs. She is survived by James Downs, Teresa (Greg) Coleman, William Downs, Arthur (Sue) Downs II, and grandchildren Laura Downs (Luis Lagarda), Cassandra Coleman, Scott (Melissa) Coleman, Kristina Coleman, Weston Coleman, Caleb Downs, great grandchild Dereck Navarrete, brother Cecilio (Irene) Galvan, sister Edelmira (Jose Luis) Banda and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family requests that all flowers and notes are sent to Klein Funeral Home. There will be a funeral service on Thursday January 27, 2022 at 11:00 AM at St. Ignatius Loyola Catholic Church with a graveside following at 1:00 PM at Houston National Cemetery.
