Lucy Moore Williford passed away unexpectedly due to complications from pneumonia on March 29, 2020. She was 74 years old. Lucy lived in Tomball, Texas for the past 21 years and loved it. Her favorite thing to do was gather and enjoy meals and conversation with her family. Her hobbies over the years included gardening, sewing, visiting with friends, and spending precious time with her kids and grandchildren.
Lucy Jane Moore was born on May 14, 1945 in Seagrove, North Carolina. She grew up in a family of eight children in a tiny house on a farm. While pursuing an Associate's degree at Campbell College, Lucy met and then married James Williford. They married in 1965, and then had twin boys in 1966, who died shortly after being born. They then had Kelly in 1969 and James Jr. in 1973. She was a dedicated homemaker and was the glue of the family, always making sure everyone's needs were met. After her husband died in 1991, Lucy went back to school and became a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant. This profession suited Lucy so well, as it afforded her the opportunity to work with babies ages birth to three who had developmental disabilities and/or motor delays. During this time, she gained four grandchildren to love on also, and enjoyed them more than anything!
After retiring in 2009, Lucy spent most of her time enjoying life with her family and grandkids. They were the most important thing to her. She was always ready to help when needed, amongst various illnesses within the family. Her presence will truly be missed by many, and her selfless nature and kind heart made the world a better place. Everyone who met Lucy ended up loving her.
Lucy is survived by her daughter, Kelly Wallis and her family: Jeff (husband), and their daughters Abby and Emily as well as her son, James Williford, Jr. and his family: April (wife), and children, Lauren and James III. She is also survived by three brothers: Lindon, Dempsey and his wife Sue, and Henry and his wife Elaine.
