Louis Gonzales, Jr., 74, born and raised in Houston, Texas, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, November 9, 2017.
Louis was preceded in death by his father, Louis Gonzales, Sr., his mother, Trinidad (Cardenas) Gonzales, and his brother, Johnny. Louis is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Lydia (Garcia) Gonzales, his four children, Jeffrey (Yolanda), Jennifer, Michael (Melissa), and Susan (Eric), ten grandchildren, Diana (Alex), Robert, Brandon, Zachary (Pamela), Daisy, Eric (McKenna), Lindsey, Abigail, Isabelle, and Karoline, and one great grandchild, Easton. He is also survived by his sisters, Anita (Ernest), Rosa, Lupe, and Lola (Raul), his brothers, Jesse, George (Christina), and Manuel, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Louis worked as a valve technician in the oil field services industry until his retirement in 2006. He was a simple man of few words who loved his family unconditionally. Louis enjoyed spending time out in the country, watching the various sports teams of Houston, and spending time with his family. He was a father who took great pride in teaching his children about the important things in life.
The family will receive friends and family at 6:30 pm for a Rosary on Sunday, November 19, 2017 at the Mary Chapel at Prince of Peace Catholic Community. A mass in celebration of Louis' life will be held at 10:30 am on Monday, November 20, 2017 at the Mary Chapel at Prince of Peace Catholic Community. A reception at the Community Center will immediately follow. In lieu of flowers a donation box will be available at the mass for contributions to be made to Holy Name Catholic Church, Houston, Texas.
