Louis J. Carricarte, a lifelong devotee to family and a man of unique spirit, passed away on September 17, 2023, in Spring, Texas. Born on May 23, 1936, in Jersey City, New Jersey, Louis was the son of the late Louis A. Carricarte and Alice Ferrin Carricarte.

Louis was the loving husband of Olympia L. Carricarte (née Lancellotti) for 52 years. He is survived by their children: Louis M. Carricarte, Alicia Carricarte Merckle, and John C. Carricarte; as well as their grandchildren Louis J. Carricarte, Morgan E. Crawford, Steven L Hayden, Alena M. Hayden, and J Hunter Carricarte. His great-granddaughter, Lillian C Crawford, and siblings Alice DeHaven, Diana McLean, and Henry J. Carricarte also survive him.

Growing up in Jersey City, Louis met his future wife, Olympia (known affectionately as Linda), while they were still in elementary school. The two wed on February 23, 1957. Louis served honorably in the Army National Guard and launched his career in transportation with the Pennsylvania Railroad, where he worked as a Yard Master at Greenville Yards in Jersey City.

A devoted family man, Louis relished his roles as a grandfather and great-grandfather. Despite being a reluctant traveler, he found immense joy in vacations with family and friends. A man of varied interests, Louis had a penchant for boating and gun collecting. His fondness for Labrador Retrievers was well-known, most recently exemplified by his six-year-old black Lab, Shadow.

Louis often said, "Making memories, that's all we have." Those memories will be cherished by all who knew him.
