Louis Edward Bricarell

Louis Edward Bricarell (Lou), passed away Sunday March 4, 2018 in Houston, Tx surrounded by many who loved him. He was 89.

Louis was born July 20,1928, an only child to Louis P and Kathryn R Bricarell in Philadelphia, Pa. He graduated from West Catholic High School in 1944 where he ran track and played football. Soon after He started working in the petrochemical industry and enjoyed a long career with DuPont.

Lou met Dorothy Lydon, the love of his life, at a Knights of Columbus dance. He was setting up chairs with his father and Dotty was on the decorating committee. They married and started their adventures together on November 18,1950. Their union produced 8 children and they lived in several states including Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, Utah, Mississippi and their favorite place of all Texas! Their favorite quote was "I wasn't born in Texas but I got here as fast as I could". They built their retirement home in Corpus Christi, Tx and enjoyed the beach life on Padre Island for more than 20 years.

Lou was a family man who actively served his community and church through teaching religious education, coaching softball, being on community association boards and volunteering in various ways. He loved his Italian heritage and enjoyed being known as the "Godfather".  He was so excited to see his beloved Philadelphia Eagles win the Super Bowl this year.

He was preceded in death by his wife Dorothy who was there to welcome him with the angels.

Louis is survived by his 8 children, Bruce Bricarell (Laurie), Beth Eaton (Jerry), Bonnie Morris(Dick), Babette Hopkins(Michael), Brian Bricarell (Shari), Brenda Gordon (Howie), Barry Bricarell (Toni), Brant Bricarell (Tammie) and 23 grandchildren. Andrew Bricarell, Amanda Ewen, Alex Bricarell, Kara DiCarlo, Jess Eaton, Kristi Varela, Stephanie Eckard, Christopher Morris, Jessica Appelberg, Ashley Gillis, Josh Hopkins, Melissa Birencwaig, Patrick Bricarell, Brandon Bricarell, Katie Bricarell, Justin Bricarell, Matthew Gordon, Emily Gordon, Amy Gordon, Ryan Bricarell, Jimmy Bricarell, Macayla Bricarell, Eric Bricarell. Plus 18 Great grandchildren.
