Louanne Ratliff Mackley was born in Pueblo, Colorado, on November 16, 1935, to Daniel Shadrack Ratliff and Lura McDaniel Ratliff, and passed away peacefully in Houston, Texas on February 18, 2021. After the passing of her mother at the age of six, Louanne had an unusual childhood moving around from one relative to another through her school age years. She graduated from Edgewater High School and went on the marry the love of her life Wayne Mackley on September 4, 1955. Louanne and Wayne were married for 65 years. They had three children born in three different states, eventually settling in Athens, Texas. Louanne loved to participate in her children's lives as a 4-H, Brownies and Cub Scouts leaders. She loved to sew, even making their school clothes and prom dresses. She was actively involved in the 1 st Presbyterian Church. While in Athens, Louanne and Wayne opened the Frame House, where they made and sold custom picture frames. After leaving Athens, they eventually moved to Houston, Texas to be closer to family, and opened another frame shop, L&W Frames. Louanne's favorite things to do were reading and watching sports. She was perfectly content sitting in her chair reading a good book and watching the Astros.
Louanne is preceded in death by parents Daniel Shadrack Ratliff, Laura McDaniel-Ratliff, siblings Daniel S Ratliff Jr , Tom Ratliff and Loretta Ratliff Miesner, and husband Wayne B. Mackley.
Louanne is survived by her children, Brenda Lou Meyer and husband Harold, Beth Ann Gonzales and husband Steve, and Brian Lee Mackley; numerous grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
