Lorraine Frances Feik, 93, a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, died peacefully on April 14, 2026, surrounded by her family. She was born in Omaha, Nebraska, on July 12, 1932, and raised in Columbus, Nebraska, by her mother, Florence Margaret Powers, and her father, Hans C. Hilbert. She attended St. Bonaventure Catholic Schools, and as an only child, shared a lifelong closeness with her cousins, Eileen (Caffrey) Atherton and Rose (Caffrey) Victor.

Lorraine attended the University of Hawaii and later earned a teaching degree from the University of Nebraska. She began her career teaching elementary school in Omaha, Fremont, and Lincoln, Nebraska, and went on to teach special education in the Denver Public Schools.

On July 29, 1961, she married Vincent J. Feik at Christ the King Church in Evergreen, Colorado. They first met in the fourth grade, grew up together, and reconnected after college while living in Denver. They raised three children in Colorado, Utah, Oklahoma, New Jersey, Connecticut, and Texas, following Vincent's career with Continental Oil Company (Conoco) and Vista Chemical Company.

Lorraine embraced each move with grace and resilience, creating a warm and welcoming home wherever they lived. At the center of her life was a deep devotion to family. She brought comfort, strength, and joy to those around her, and in later years took immense pride in her granddaughters, Hailey, Maddie, and Catherine, who affectionately called her "Grammy." Deeply rooted in her Catholic faith, she taught religious education and served as a Eucharistic minister in the parishes she belonged to over the years.

Lorraine loved to travel and often spoke with gratitude about the many trips she and Vincent shared. She visited every continent except Antarctica. Among her favorite experiences were meeting Pope John Paul II, riding a camel in Egypt, watching the sunrise from a hot air balloon in Australia, and walking the Great Wall of China. She was deeply proud of her Irish heritage and cherished her roots, descending from Patrick Power and Alice Kiely of Waterford.

An enthusiastic Astros fan, she celebrated their victories and good-naturedly grumbled over their losses. She rarely missed a game and delighted in keeping up with the players both on and off the field.

She also had a special love for dachshunds, especially her beloved Casey, who was never far from her side and a constant companion.

Lorraine was predeceased by her parents and her husband, Vincent, who died in 2004. She is survived by her daughter, Cheryl (and son-in-law Jay Ryan) of Washington, D.C.; her son, Patrick (and daughter-in-law Kay) of Houston; her son, Kelly, of Houston; and her granddaughters: Hailey Feik of Austin, Texas; Madilyn (Maddie) Feik of Houston; and Catherine Ryan of New York City.

A private burial Mass at Prince of Peace Catholic Church and interment at Spring Klein Memorial Park were held on April 22, 2026. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to Dachshund Rescue of Houston (www.droh.org) or Scotus Catholic High School (https://columbus-catholic.org).

Lorraine, lovingly called "Lewis" by her three children, will be deeply missed and remembered with great love by her family.
