Loretta Mae Lawrence, affectionately known as "Grammie", passed away peacefully in her sleep on October 25, 2023 in Cypress, Texas.
Loretta Mae Lawrence was born July 9, 1931 to Denver and Myrtle Houser in Stratford, TX.  She graduated from Guymon Oklahoma High School in 1949 and attended Panhandle State University where she met and married Dan Corbitt in 1950.  They lived in Dalhart, TX where they owned and managed the Rita Blanca Motel and had two children, Ricky and Brenda.  In 1965 they traded the motel for a farm north of Dalhart.  Loretta loved her family with all of her heart and enjoyed being involved in all of their activities.  She had many friends who she enjoyed playing bridge with, and she especially loved singing in her church choir.  In 1990 she and Dan divorced and she moved to Amarillo.  In 1996 she married William "Bill" Lawrence and they enjoyed traveling, church activities, playing bridge, dancing at the Senior Citizens, delivering Meals On Wheels, but most of all they loved spending time with their families, especially the great-grandchildren.
Loretta was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Bill Lawrence in 2022 and her brother Jerry Houser in 2013.
Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Rick Corbitt and wife Kristen of Dolores, CO, Brenda Garth and husband Dirk of Cypress,TX, and Diane (Lawrence)Ball and husband Jim of Springtown, TX; grandchildren, Kristi Kelly and husband Jim of Cypress, TX and Jim Ball and wife Kristi of FtWorth,TX; great-grandchildren, Kyndall, Avery, and Emery Kelly, and Matthew and Kyler Ball; sister-in-law, Gay Houser; nephew, Todd Houser; and great niece, Sophie Thorpe and husband Tyler.
