Lorene M. Galloway Bohannon of Tomball, Texas was welcomed home on Wednesday, August 19, 2020. Lorene was born in Hamilton County, Texas on March 22, 1937. Lorene was a gentle spirit who was loved by many, adored by most, and will be terribly missed by all. Lorene was preceded in death by parents Leonard A. and Marie Winkler, Sr.; husband William C. Galloway, Jr.; husband James A. Bohannon, Sr.; siblings Arthur Lee Winkler, Leonard A. Winkler, Jr., William E. Winkler, Henry A. Winkler, and John B. Winkler; and grandchildren Amanda Galloway and Michael Dean Jordan. Lorene is survived by brother and sister-in-law Joseph and Georgia Winkler; children Kathleen "Kate" Galloway Jordan, William Roger Galloway, John Gary Galloway, Sheila Louise Galloway, Michael Lorne Galloway, and James Larry Galloway; daughter-in-laws Gina Galloway, Angela Galloway, Shelley Galloway; numerous nieces, nephews, step-children and step-grandchildren; and 15 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, who were the jewels in her crown.

Bohannon was born Lorene Marie Winkler just outside of Hamilton, Texas, on the cotton farm she called home and where she helped care for her six younger siblings. She attended the Lutheran church at Aleman, Texas, where her love for God and her siblings grew into a passion. After graduating high school, Lorene received her Associates Degree in Teaching from St. John's Lutheran College in Winfield, Kansas. She then moved to Houston, Texas, where she taught first grade at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church and where she met William Crafford Galloway, Jr., whom she married on November 23, 1957. In 1962, the couple moved to Tomball, Texas where they raised four boys and two girls on a small family farm. After William's passing, Lorene married James A. "Bo" Bohannon, with whom she traveled extensively around the United States.

Lorene was a teacher, a homemaker, a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, an avid bowler, and a beloved mother and grandmother. She loved wind chimes, playing dominoes, singing church hymns, and above all else, her family.

The family will receive visitors Tuesday, August 25, 2020, from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at Klein Funeral Home, 1400 W. Main, Tomball, TX  77375.  Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, August 26, 2020 by invitation from the family due to capacity restrictions.  Interment Wednesday, August 26, 2020 at 11:30 A.M. in Klein Memorial Park, 32539 Hwy 249, Pinehurst, 77362.

The Corona Virus has changed the way funeral services are handled.  The restrictions and requirements at Klein Funeral Homes for services are as follows:

Visitation – 10 people, to include the family, on a rotation basis during the visitation time.

Chapel Service – 50 people, to include family and service participants (clergy and musicians)

Graveside Service – no restriction on attendance but social distancing must be observed.

A mask is required for all in attendance and if anyone has knowingly been exposed to COVID-19 please stay home we are trying to avoid exposure to funeral attendees and our staff.
