Lorene Hamm Evans departed this life on February 27, 2022 in The Woodlands, TX at the age of 96.  Lorene was born on June 26, 1925 in Oklahoma to the late Frank and Helen (Koop) Hamm, was saved on February 23, 1936 and baptized on March 11, 1936 when she was 10 years old.

Lorene married Sheldon Evans on June 30, 1946 in Weatherford, Oklahoma at the age of 21. She enjoyed working over 23 years as a nurse. After retiring from nursing in 1987, she cared for the children of the Pinter family in New Jersey. Her loving husband, Sheldon Evans, passed away on September 27, 1988 after 42 years. Lorene moved to Conroe, Texas in 2002 and became an active and regular member of the West Conroe Baptist Church. She was a prolific fabric artist who was highly skilled in quilting, crocheting, embroidery, sewing and more. A very intelligent woman, she was known for bringing wit and laughter to her family, often ordering her dessert first because, "Life is short, so you should eat dessert first."

Lorene was preceded in death by her husband Sheldon Evans, her sister Valera Abbott, and her brother LeRoy Hamm.

She is survived by her nieces Pat Abbott, Kay Scott, Tedra Black, and Debbie Henson, and her nephews Kurt Hamm and Burt Hamm.
