Lonnie Len Hardamon went to be with his lord and savior on Monday, November 13, 2017 in Tomball, TX at the age of 89.

Lonnie was born in Flora, Louisiana on April 28, 1928 to Marshall and Evelyn Hardamon and later moved to Magnolia, TX. He proudly joined the US Army in May of 1946 serving in World War II in Japan earning a World War II Victorys Medal and an Army of Occupation Medal. He married the love of his life, Gertrude in April of 1947. After serving his country, Lonnie started his career off with Hall Motor Company. During that time he also joined the volunteer fire department in Tomball, TX and went on to become named fire chief. Having found enjoyment with the fire department he started teaching training classes at Texas A&M University. In later years, Lonnie then established employment with Trunkline Oil & Gas. Always having an interest in jewelry and coins, it led him to open his own business, Hardamon Coin and Jewelry. Lonnie then made the decision to retire from Trunkline Oil & Gas so that he could devote his time solely to his dream. The business was later sold to what is now Golden Nonsense located in Tomball, TX. Once he sold that, he had a small business, Green River Bullion Exchange that he enjoyed from his home.

Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, brother and friend had a true passion for life who loved his country, reading books, lover of all animals and being with his family. He had a heart of gold and was always giving to others. Lonnie loved to sit and tell old stories from being in the war to hunting for gold and treasure in Louisiana. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered as he rests in peace of our Lord's loving arms.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Marshall A. and Evelyn Hardamon, siblings; Bobby, Dorothy Mac and Louis Hardamon; son, Lonnine Hardamon, Jr.

He is survived by his beloved and devoted wife of 70 years, Gertrude Hardamon; daughter, La Donna Shaw and husband Ellis; daughter-in-law, Karla Hardamon; grandchildren, Jason Shaw and wife Jenni; Stephanie Hardamon and Pedro Boyd; Jennifer Divin and husband Ryan; great grandchildren, Avery Divin and Tegan Shaw. He also leaves behind his brother Earl and wife Judy; sister, Mary Helen Fagan. He will be missed by his beloved extended family and friends.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, November 15, 2017 from 5-8 p.m. at Klein Funeral Home, Tomball. A graveside service will be held at 12:30pm on November 16, 2017 at The Houston National Cemetery with Military Honors.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The American Heart Association, American Diabetes Association or Veterans of America in memory of Lonnie Hardamon.
