Obituary

Lonna Cartwright Fleming was born June 20, 1954 in Plainview, Texas, the daughter of Lon D. and Betty Cartwright who preceded her in death.  Lonna graduated from Plainview High School in 1972.  In high school she played the clarinet in marching band and was an active member in both Student Government and Future Homemakers of America.

Lonna attended Texas Tech University and after graduating with honors in Business Administration, she worked for Midland National Bank as an Auditor.

In 1977, Lonna met the self-described "love of her life," Martin Fleming while he was singing in the church choir at the Midland United Methodist Church.  They married in 1982 and shortly after she gave birth to her son, Paul and daughter, Marti.  Lonna found great joy watching her children grow up, and took pride in all they accomplished and always showered her family with unconditional love.

Lonna's life was filled with many adventures as she moved with her husband to Stavanger, Norway; St. John's Newfoundland & Calgary, Alberta Canada where she raised her children and made lifelong friendships lasting to this day.

Lonna loved her Bible, baking, card games, mystery novels & films, shopping (mostly for others), Church music, sweet tea, the beach & all children.  Just weeks ago she shared a fantastic Caribbean vacation with her family, and we are so grateful for all the time and memories of happiness we have together.  She will always be with us in spirit, smiling.  Most of all, Lonna deeply believed in Prayer and the Power of her Maker, our God.

Surviving Lonna are her beloved husband Martin; son Paul of New York, New York and daughter Marti of Spring, Texas; her sister Carla Betzen-Cain and husband Eddy of Dallas, Texas; brother Drew Cartwright and husband Bill of Anaheim Hills, California; her niece Magan Schain, husband Adam and their four children Max, Asher, Emily and Clara of White Plains, New York.

Memorials in Lonna's name may be made to the American Heart Association.
