Obituary

Lois (Lou) Leona Hill, 101, of Mount Vernon, Washington, passed away peacefully on November 9, 2017, in Houston, Texas.  Born on July 22, 1916 in Edmonds, Washington. She graduated from Snohomish High School in 1935. She continued her education at the May Helen School of Beauty. Preceded in death by her loving husband of 60 years Charles (Chuck) Hill, parents George and Maye Iaeger Brothers, Charles, Bill, Jack, George Jr., her sisters, Ada Mae, Georgie Gamey, Virginia (T.D.) Blandin, Luluabelle Norris, and Katie Poole. She was also preceded in death by grandson James Jr.

She is survived by her sister Hazel Skutvik of Big Lake WA., her sister-in- law Merise Iaeger of Jacksonville, OR., her children, James (Cindy) Hill of Fairbanks, AK, Martha Mann, of Bremerton, WA., Kathy (Rick) Alaniz of Houston, TX., her grandchildren, Teresa Milliken, Sherrill Snyder, Annette Wells, Jeffrey Hill, Charles Hill, Taylor Middleton, Bradley Mann, Kara Mann, and Trevor Stevens, Lee and Brad Alaniz. She also leaves many great and great great grandchildren, as well as many wonderful nieces, nephews, and many friends.

Lou loved life and described just about everything as "SWELL". She loved her family, friends, playing cards, and crossword puzzles. Lou believed the key to longevity was a glass of good chardonnay. She always said her years in Alaska were her favorite time of life and that she missed the many friends that she and Chuck left when they retired and returned to Washington. She also loved her many new friends in Houston, Texas.
