In Loving Memory

It is with great sadness and sorrow that the Sawyer Family of the Houston area announces the passing of Lois Lorene Fell (Sawyer) 76, daughter of Chance D. and Lorene A. Sawyer.

Lois was born April 3, 1949, in Chickasha, Oklahoma where her father was working as an oil surveyor. Lois had a half-sister and brother living in southwest Missouri at that time, Sandra Kay Neely (Reynolds) and Don Neely.

Ms. Fell is survived by an immediate family of two brothers, Dwayne Sawyer and Marlin Sawyer; and three children, son, Larry Todd Richardson; daughter, Tracie Moore (Falks); and son, Jerrett Fell. She had five grandchildren and five great grandchildren which meant the world to her.

The Sawyer family moved to the Houston area in 1963 when Mr. Sawyer was transferred by his work. Lois went to junior high school and finished high school at Lamar High in Houston. She made very good grades but had no desire at that time to continue her formal education. She was ready to tackle what she considered the real world, meeting people, working, having her own place and learning more about what life meant for her. Though later in life she got her LVN and practiced Nursing for about five years.

She worked at various companies after graduation but stayed with Southwestern Bell Telephone long enough to receive a retirement. Lois liked to socialize and became quite fond of country western dancing which took up most of her night life on the weekends.

That was interesting because Lois never really seemed to enjoy any form of athletics even as a child. She really did love to dance though, and it helped her physically.

Lois married three times and was single when she passed but she kept tabs on the all the children and the adults in the family; what a busy body. She cared a lot in life and for all the kids. But, she lived alone and over the years she leaned more towards being alone though she did some socializing. Her health faded and slowly restricted her movements. She wasn't a good patient which added to her poor health. And so, life caught up with her and she was aware of the potential inevitable results that ultimately found her.

Lois was caring and yet stern in her pursuit of life. She had a great sense of humor and loved to laugh. She could take a joke. She contributed to the progress of life as we know it and she shall be missed by those who knew her, and her dog, Ebony, the love of her life.
