It is with a great sense of loss that we share the passing of Lois Allbritton Booth, a loving mother and grandmother "Nanny", devoted sister and aunt, and sincere friend to so many. At the age of 77, Lois's courageous fight with lung cancer (she never smoked as she always emphasized) came to an end on January 26, 2025.

Lois was out-going and very much a people person. She had many friends dating back from high school to probably even month ago. She rarely met a stranger and once you became a friend, you were a friend for life. She had a way of making those around her feel special and truly cared about.

Lois had always been close with her family and, after experimenting in various jobs and workplaces to find her calling (and collecting friends along the way), began working in the family's cafeteria business for 22 years until it's closing in 1996. She then worked for Sam's Club as an accountant until her retirement.  Not one to sit idle, she began working retail at Pier One until the pandemic. After the shut down she worked at what she called a "fun job"  at Total Wine until her cancer diagnosis in 2023.

Always giving to those she loved, Lois was a very caring person. She cared for her father in his last days and took care of her infirm mother.  After their passing, she faithfully visited their gravesides on holidays, birthdays, and anniversaries with flowers in hand. She cherished her children and grandchildren, always keeping up with all the latest of their activities. Lois was always close with her sister, despite their age difference (which was a source of much kidding around, "Age before beauty" and all that) they were true friends together in thick and thin. She adored her nieces (and her newest great nephew) as well and kept up with all their comings and goings. Lois truly enjoyed being with her family.

Lois was however, unlucky in her love life.  She had her heart broken a few times and finally decided the single life was for her. She embraced living on her own and made a home lovingly decorating with many items she had curated through the years.

Although not well-traveled, Lois was adventurous.  She went skydiving three times (twice tandem and one solo).  She encouraged everyone to experience that jump from a plane at least once. So far the inspiration to make that leap only made it to her grandson, Zack.

Lois was one of those people who always went above and beyond.  Whether it was caring for someone and finding them the perfect gift for their birthday or making sure her house was always neat and clean.  Everything was always in order.  We often kidded her it was a "disorder" but she had her way of doing things and we appreciated that. She always gave her all, even in her battle with cancer.  She fought hard in order to have more time with those she loved.

Lois is preceded in death by her parents, "Sonny" & Olive Allbritton.  She is survived by her daughter Theresa Battaglia and grandson Zack Salmon (34); her son Rhet Taylor and his wife Wendy and grandsons Ryley (17) and Ronin (14); her sister Val Morris and her husband Doug and nieces Chloe Morris and her partner Jake Moore, Kyra Stover and her husband Andrew, Kimberly Ibarra and her husband Freddie and great nephew Freddie (14 months); and friends (including cousins, neighbors, and acquaintances) too numerous to list. Lois truly had a knack for making all those around her feel special. We are sure that her memory will be cherished by those who have known her for years as well as by those she barely knew.
