Lisa entered this world on April 7, 1959 in Springfield, IL to David and Sandy (Downs) Hackman and lived in the surrounding area most of her life, graduating from PORTA High School in 1977. She grew up with four siblings: Mitch the B, Hairy Hunus, Mussel Pussel, and Squiggle Ann. Lisa worked as a respiratory therapist for many years in the neonatal intensive care unit at St. John's hospital in Springfield. This is where she met the love of her life, Dr. Carlos Chua, better known as her "Bunny." The two recently celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary this September. Her favorite things to do with her Bunny included going to dinner at Luby's, watching movies, and shopping for antiques (otherwise known to Carlos as junk).

She left her career after a few years to stay at home to take care of her family. Her six children were everything to her. She is preceded in death by her daughter Kelsey Ann. Surviving children are known by loving nicknames: Big Bee Little Bee Don't Sting Me (Bug), Snapper (Angel Mae), Toobie, Sweetie (Will.I.Am), and Bagola. Anyone that knows Lisa knows that her family was everything to her. She was most proud of her children's accomplishments, always bragging to anyone that would listen. Bee is in a PhD program in political science in St. Louis, Missouri. Snapper is a trauma surgeon in Springfield, Illinois. Toobie is a double major in political science and theater, with a focus in playwriting at University of Houston. Sweetie is a registered nurse at Texas Children's in Bone Marrow Transplant. Bagola is a illustrator/graphic designer working as a video game developer at Gearbox Software in Frisco, Texas.

She had many extended family members that held a huge piece of her heart, including nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles. Her two best friends Judith Marie and Dooey stood by her through thick and thin. She also loved to give cuddles and pets to her baby kitty Kibberty and grandpuppy Zippy. Her pride and joy, were her eight grandbabies: Charlie Chomper, Ollie Buggers, Wessy, Scarlett the Hollywood Starlett, Rora Are You Roaring, Ruby Mae, Baby Alexander, and Maximoto. She was always on the lookout for any special presents to send to Grammy's babies. She spent hours looking through American Girl and Toys R Us catalogs, in the search for the perfect surprise. She enjoyed spoiling the kids rotten at Chuck E. Cheese and Barnes and Noble.

Lisa had a very kind heart, loved unconditionally, and was always reaching out to help others, picking up hitchhikers, donating to various charities, cooking meals for others, and never failing to lend an ear to anyone who needed to talk. Her children hope to carry out this legacy and to make a positive impact on the world.
