Obituary

Lionel J. Sirois passed away on February 3, 2019 in Spring, Texas.  He was born November 17, 1933 in Elizabeth, New Jersey. Lionel attended Seton Hall Preparatory School in W. Orange, New Jersey.  He received a BS in Chemical Engineering from Newark College of Engineering (now NJIT) He served in the United States Air Force and was honorably discharged at the rank of Captain in the USAF Reserves. Lionel had a distinguished career with Exxon Chemical in both New Jersey and Houston, Texas.  He retired in 1994 after 39 years of employment.  While in Houston, he was manager of the Houston Chemical Plant and Mechanical Divisions Manager at the Exxon Chemical Baytown Plant. He was loved and respected by his employees and coworkers and was a mentor to many a young engineer.

Lionel married the love of his life, Anita McNeive Sirois on January 1, 1978.  They had a wonderful life together and enjoyed decorating their homes; Lionel particularly enjoyed finding paintings. They loved entertaining and a dinner party at the Sirois was always a fantastic evening! Anita and Lionel also enjoyed traveling and took many wonderful trips over the years to Europe and within the United States.

Lionel served on the finance council at St. Ignatius Loyola Catholic Church, was on the NAM Endowment Board and was involved with the United Way as an Exxon retiree. He and his daughter Kim volunteered together in the Meals on Wheels program.

Lionel was a kind and gentle man.  He lived a good life.

He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Anita McNeive Sirois, his stepdaughter Kim (Bob) Mausser; sons Gary Sirois, Ken Sirois and Mark Sirois; grandchildren Stephanie Mausser, Beau (Lacy) Sirois, Ryan Sirois, Wyatt Sirois and sister Pat Sweeny.

Lionel's parents, Benoit and Mary (LaGassy) Sirois, brother Ben Sirois;  sisters Marie Bischoff and Joanne Nolan precede him in death.

The family will be present to receive friends Friday, February 8th at Klein Funeral Home Champions from 5-7:00 PM.

The Funeral Mass will commence at 11:00 AM Saturday, February 9th at St. Ignatius of Loyola Catholic, Spring, Texas.
