Obituary

Linda L Zehler, (née Kelly), age 78, wife of Mark R. Zehler, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 8, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Buffalo, New York on July 7, 1947, Linda was the daughter of John and Dorothy Kelly.

Throughout her life, Linda found joy in many interests, including woodworking, photography, reading, nurturing plants, and caring for her beloved dog, Luna. Yet her greatest gift to those around her was not any hobby, but the warmth of her spirit and the quiet strength of her faith.

Her greatest legacy was her family. From her years leading Girl Scout troops to the thousands of miles logged in the car for practices and the countless hours spent on the sidelines of soccer games, gymnastic and dance competitions, she was the silent engine behind her children's every success. She didn't just watch her children grow; she anchored them, ensuring they always had a foundation of faith and a mother who was always by their side.

In later years, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren became her greatest joy, and she delighted in "spoiling" them, pouring her love into every gift and every visit. Her home was a reflection of her heart: welcoming, always open, and filled with love.
She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Mark R. Zehler; her children, Suzanne Romano (Jon D. Kingsley, Jr.), Dennis Zehler (Yetza) and Sarah Ammons (Brian); and her grandchildren, Rebecca Tillman (Cameraon), Maddie Cuccia (Kyle), Matt Romano, Mitchell Ammons and Alexandra Ammons and seven great-grandchildren.

The family would like to thank the medical staff at MD Anderson for the compassionate care and support they provided during her time in their care. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to MD Anderson in memory of Linda.
