LINDA ANN WESTBROOK

Linda Ann Westbrook, 78, passed away January 20, 2025. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.

Born and raised in Houston, Linda was known for her insatiable love for learning and dancing. As a young woman, she was a passionate student and enjoyed every opportunity to expand her knowledge, a trait that she carried throughout her life. She met and married Sammy Westbrook, and together they raised two children, David and Kelly, who were the center of her world.

Linda is preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Sammy Westbrook, her parents Andrew and Grace Durdin, brother Kerry Durdin, sister Donna Davenport, father-in-law and mother-in-law Winfred and Gladys Westbrook, nephews Jerry and Danny Westbrook, brothers-in-law Charles and Ray Westbrook, sisters-in-law Anita and Mary Westbrook.

She is survived by her children, daughter Kelly Zeringue and husband Daryl, and son David Westbrook. Grandchildren Amanda Green and husband John, Matthew Brawley and wife Tara, Tyler Zeringue and wife Carly, and Allison Zeringue. Great grandchildren Reece, Katherine, and Joy Green, Mason Brawley, Tyler and Tatum Zeringue. Brother Glenn Durdin and wife Debbie. Brothers-in-law Richard Westbrook and DP Davenport. Numerous nieces and nephews and a host of friends and family, all of whom will forever cherish her memory.

Linda dedicated over 40 years of her life to the Houston Independent School District as a secretary, where she touched the lives of countless students, teachers, and staff members with her kindness and unwavering work ethic. She was known for her reliability, her warm smile, and her dedication to helping others.

Family was everything to Linda. She was a devoted mother and the proudest grandmother, always eager to spend time with her grandchildren, whom she adored beyond words. Whether it was a simple afternoon gathering or a special occasion, Linda's presence brought joy, laughter, and warmth to those around her.

Linda was also an avid Houston sports fan, especially devoted to her beloved Houston Oilers. Her loyalty to the team never wavered, even when the Oilers moved to Tennessee. She was a fixture at games, always ready to cheer on her teams, and her passion for Houston sports was contagious.

Linda's warmth, love, and spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. She will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
