Linda Lavon McKay
Born February 5, 1944, in Raymondville, TX
Passed away December 24, 2017, in Cypress, TX
73 years
Linda Lavon McKay, 73, of Cypress, passed away with family by her side, in her home, on December 24, 2017. She was born February 5, 1944 in Raymondville, TX to the late E.C. and Juanita (Wilsher) White.
She was a graduate of Lyford High School. While in high school, she met the love of her life, Dane McKay. After waiting for Dane to return from the service, they married on March 1, 1964. Linda and Dane began their life together in Houston, TX. After only a year of being married, they relocated to Corpus Christi, TX where they had three beautiful girls. After their third daughter was born, they moved to Cypress, TX. In 1993, Dane and Linda opened their own business where Linda served as the secretary for many years. She was a faithful and active member of Jersey Village Church of Christ, where she taught Sunday school and was always on call to bake cookies for VBS. Linda was a talented cook, and was passionate about showing her love for others by cooking their favorite meal or pie. She had a particular love for her grandchildren and great- grand babies. She was always on the floor playing "toys" or attending ball games, programs and graduations.
She is survived by 2 siblings, Anngell "Auntie" Willis and Conrad "Connie" White, and loving husband of 53 years, Dane McKay. She was preceded in death by her sister Carolyn Sue White, and parents Edmond Conrad and Lorene Juanita White.
A memorial service will be held on January 6th at Jersey Village Church of Christ at 11:00am.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation to the charity of your choice.
