Linda Beth Lee Jernigan, 73, was born on March 4, 1943 in Paragould, Arkansas, and passed away on April 4, 2016 at her home in Spring, Texas after a brief illness.

She spent her early formative years in New Braunfel, Texas and Little Rock, Arkansas before her family moved to Memphis, Tennessee where she graduated from White Station High School.

She married her college sweetheart, James Arthur Jernigan, in 1964 while attending the University of Memphis. Their whirlwind romance became an endured love that was the hallmark of their 51 plus years of marriage.

Linda and Jim traveled the world together living in both Germany and Hong Kong, as well as, visiting over 17 countries as part of Jim's business career.  She was known for her style and grace and enduring friendships throughout the world.  She had an eye for fashion, a love for cooking, and a passion for decorating and gardening which were always on display in the over 13 homes the Jernigan's owned across America and countless residences around the world.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Martha Rogers Lee, and John Andrew Lee, Sr., and her brother John Andrew Lee, Jr.  She is survived by her husband, James Arthur Jernigan, her daughter Kimberly Lyn Jernigan Barto and husband Alan, and grandsons, Alec and Kyler Barto.   She was also survived by sister-in-law, Mary Jernigan Smith, brother-in-law, John O. Jernigan, nephew, Calvin Jackson Hobson, IV and spouse, nephew, Coleman John Jernigan, and niece, Andrea Lee Baker and family.

A Celebration of Life Memorial Service for Linda will be held at Klein Funeral Home, 18121 Champion Forest Dr., Spring, TX 77379 on Saturday, May 14, 2016 from 10:00am – 11:00am.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to St. Jude's Children's Hospital in Linda's name.
