On Monday, September 11th, Linda Glazener James, loving mother, cherished daughter, adored sister, and treasured friend passed away at the age of 69 in Houston, Texas following a courageous battle with ovarian cancer. Linda was born in 1954 on Galveston Island and grew up in Austin, Texas. She relocated to Colorado to attend Colorado State University and Denver University, spent four years in Irvine, California, and then moved to Houston in 1990. She is survived by her mother Margaret Glazener, siblings Karen & Charlie Kremer, Lisa & Steve Doerr, and Wesley & Cathy Glazener, as well as her son Benjamin James, daughter and son-in-law Hannah and Brett Baker Jr.. She is also survived by seven nieces and nephews. She enjoyed partnership with Larry Mabry for the last decade and shared an inspiring friendship with Jerry James and Susie Gerber. She is preceded in death by her son Nathaniel James and father Stanton Glazener.

Linda faithfully served her family, community and friends. She volunteered at Yeager Elementary, Northwest Assistance Ministries and with the National Association of Mental Illness. She served her church communities by leading Sunday School and Vacation Bible School. She also went back to school to become an occupational therapy assistant before retiring. Throughout her life, Linda enjoyed cooking, art, and reading. At all her homes, she cultivated beautiful gardens and would stop to admire plants anywhere she went. She enjoyed many forms of recreation including tennis, pickleball, and hiking. Linda was always game for a round of Texas 42, low stakes poker, and any game or activities her nieces and nephews wanted to try at the Glazener family holiday gatherings. In her retirement she enjoyed travel, art projects, and seeking new experiences. She would make a point to ask insightful and caring questions to those around her and gently tease anyone who was asking for it.  handled her cancer diagnosis and treatment with grace and fortitude. Often considering the needs of those around her more than herself. This was nothing new as she had overcome many trials and losses in her life, but was able to maintain her faith in God, belief in the goodness of life, and showed unwavering love to those around her.
