Linda Ann Hoskins (Schaedler)

Linda Ann Hoskins, loving mother, grandmother, mentor, and advocate, passed away peacefully surrounded by family. She lived a life defined by service, leadership, and unwavering devotion to those she loved.

Born on September 16, 1949 to William and Ann Schaedler (Fitzpatrick), Linda was raised with a strong sense of purpose, compassion, and perseverance that guided her throughout her life. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Richard I. Hoskins III, who passed away in 2024.

Linda was a devoted mother to her two children, Richard I. Hoskins IV and Lysa Hynes, and a cherished mother-in-law to Nicole Hoskins. Her greatest joy was her role as "Grandma" to her grandchildren—Richard I. Hoskins V, Riley Hoskins, and Braden Hoskins—whom she adored and proudly supported at their sporting events, academic milestones, and life achievements.

Professionally, Linda dedicated her career to service and leadership. She spent many years with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Lake County, where she made a lasting impact on countless young lives. Later, she served as Executive Director of the American Pie Council, becoming a nationally respected voice in the baking industry and publishing multiple cookbooks. In recognition of her influence and leadership, she was named Baking Management Magazine's "Influential 20" in both 2009 and 2011—an honor reflecting her passion, vision, and ability to bring people together.

Beyond her professional accomplishments, Linda was an accomplished athlete. She was a nationally ranked paddle tennis player and a longtime coach of both paddle tennis and tennis, mentoring athletes with the same encouragement and discipline she brought to every aspect of her life.

Above all else, Linda was known for her deep love for family, her generosity of spirit, and her ability to make everyone around her feel supported and valued. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness, leadership, and unwavering dedication that will continue to inspire all who knew her.

Linda Ann Hoskins will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
