Linda Heath Davis 82, of Houston, Texas, passed away peacefully on August 13, 2022. Linda was born April 26, 1940.
Linda graduated from Madison high school, Madison, New Jersey, attended Elmira college in New York, then transferred, as a sophomore in 1958 to the University of Alabama. She met Chuck Davis there and they married in 1962. Linda graduated in 1961 with degrees in history and economics and received a master's degree in history at The U of A Birmingham. Linda was a lifelong educator of history and finished her career a professor of American history at Lonestar College. She recognized value of English as a Second Language for immigrants and taught volunteer courses at the college and local community charities.
Linda lived her life joyfully and to the fullest. She loved to travel, especially within the United States. Linda delighted in playing competitively in two local women's tennis leagues. She enjoyed reading extensively to keep pace in book clubs and luncheons with friends. She was skilled as an avid quilter and tried exclusively to adhere to older methods. Many quilts, especially for her loved ones were completely hand sewn.
Linda is survived by her loving husband, Charles Rodney Davis. Sister, Sheree Moody and her husband Jeff. Her children, Charles Scott Davis and wife Elizabeth, granddaughter Evelyn Callahan. Christina Leanne Davis, grandson Kaden Zane. Shannon Jaye Margolis and husband Gary.
Linda is proceeded in death by her parents, Bruce and Marjorie Heath. Her son, Bruce Heath Davis.
Memorial Service at Klein Funeral Home, 16131 Champion Forest Drive, August 27th 2:00pm. Reception will follow at our home, 10907 Brentway Dr., Houston, 77070.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in her honor to Alzheimer's Association or cancer research.
