Linda Lee Adam went to be with the Lord on Friday morning August 23, 2024, at her home surrounded by loved ones.  Linda was born in Lexington, Kentucky, and later moved to Grand Rapids, Michigan. Thankfully, she found her way home to Houston, Texas, where she met the love of her life, Bobby, on a blind date (thank you Uncle Dan!).

After two years of courting, Linda and Bobby married on August 19, 1961, at Memorial Drive Baptist Church, where Linda was the church pianist.  Upon graduating from Baylor University, she supported Bobby through Baylor Law School on her teacher's salary and dinners of tomato soup, the cheapest dinner they could find at ten cents a can.

Linda continued her teaching career for 13 years after she and Bobby moved home to Cypress. She had a passion for the English language, mapping sentences, good literature, and, above all else, for the students in her classroom. She loved and believed in education and the value of a well-written sentence. Until the day she died, she would kindly correct you if you used "good" or "well" incorrectly. We fully believe she is reading this obituary in Heaven with a red pen in her hand!

Above all else, Linda was a devoted wife to Bobby, a dedicated mother to her three daughters, and the beloved Gogi to the "Great Eight" – her eight grandchildren.  She believed in always surrounding herself with things that made her happy, which included her family, Dr. Peppers, Colorado mountaintops, tea towels, chocolate fudge, her Bible Study group, Christmas trees that stayed up year-round, fresh flowers, good friends, and most importantly, her worn-out Bible.

Linda was known for spoiling Bobby every single day, never losing a game of Scrabble, helping with English homework late at night, cheering on grandkids at any and every sporting event, loving Hallmark movies (and stores), and for finding joy anywhere and everywhere. The beautiful thing was she not only found joy, but she also spread it.  She loved so big and made room in her heart for everyone she met. Everyone loved their Linda, Momma, Aunt Linda, Mrs. Adam, Mrs. A or Gogi! She was so very easy to love.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Norvel Lee Schaeffer and Willie Belle Schaeffer.  Left to cherish her memory are her beloved husband Robert Adam; her children Leigh Ann Thompson and husband Gene, Julie Landrum and husband Bud, Rebecca Howren and husband Kevin; and her grandchildren Adam (Carley), Greyson, Allison (Jacob), Grace Anne, Jackson, Luke, Maxwell, and Finn. She was also blessed with having caregivers that turned into family the last five years of her life. We could never thank them enough.

Linda lived her life in a beautiful way that exemplified how to love life, and how to love the Lord. Visitation will be Tuesday, September 3, from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Klein Funeral Home - CyFair Northwest, 9719 Wortham Boulevard, Houston, Texas, and her life will be celebrated Wednesday, September 4, at 1:00 p.m. at Champion Forest Baptist Church (chapel), 15555 Stuebner Airline Road, Houston, Texas.
