Lilly Joe Ross was born in Clarksdale, MS at the Old Clarksdale Hospital on Monday, July 23, 1951 to Joe Gow Haw and Szeto Hoi Ping.    She has an older sister, Jean, and younger brother, Bobby.    Being the middle child, Lilly always got into trouble.  "Mischievous" was her middle name because she was not given one!   Lilly graduated from Clarksdale High School in 1969.   She attended the University of Mississippi, graduating with a degree in Accounting.

Lilly pursued a career in accounting where she eventually met her future husband, Lloyd Ross, at First Tennessee National Corporation (a large regional bank holding company) where she was a financial accountant.  Lloyd and Lilly were married on October 29, 1978.  They moved to Houston, TX where Lilly worked at Texas Commerce Bank and became Assistant Vice President in the corporate office.

Lilly and Lloyd moved to Austin, TX in August of 1984 where she continued her career at Texas Commerce Bank.  On July 9, 1985, they welcomed daughter Katie.  Lilly transitioned her focus to being a mother and volunteer in the community.   Subsequently, they returned to Houston and became active in their Tomball educational and church communities.  Lilly devoted herself to serving the Tomball school system, volunteering and caring for her daughter.   Lilly was also active at Graceview Baptist Church, in roles ranging from Wednesday service suppers to Vacation Bible School.
