Lillie Lucille Chapman, a beloved mother, wife, sister and friend, passed away peacefully on December 17, 2025, at the age of 89.

Born March 11, 1936, in Ganado, Texas, Lillie was the eldest daughter of Frank and Mary Quinn's seven children. Her childhood on the dairy farm in Jackson County served as the bedrock of her character; it was there she first embraced a profound faith in God, a deep devotion to family, and the necessity of hard work. These foundational virtues, paired with an innate kindness and spirit of charity, remained the hallmarks of her life for eighty-nine years.

After moving to Houston with her family, life changed forever for Lillie in late 1953 when she met Robert "Bobby" Ray Chapman. After a storied six-week courtship, they wed on January 5, 1954, just before Bobby's departure with the U.S. Navy. Lillie's strength was evident from the start; she studied nursing in his absence and later followed him across the globe, joining him first in California and then to the shores of Guam.

As their family grew to include four children, so did their book of memories, with chapters spent in Michigan and Ohio, but eventually coming home to Houston and settling in Spring Branch in 1977. Lillie was the cornerstone of her family, a dedicated homemaker, working part-time when needed to supplement the family income. She eventually returned to work in healthcare administration and retired from Memorial City Hospital to walk alongside Bobby during his courageous fight against cancer.

Lillie found great joy in the simple beauties of life—most notably in her garden, which was the envy of her neighbors. She lived with a vitality that defied her years, finding peace while swimming at the YMCA and in walking the scenic trails of Spring Branch. Her final year at Stonecreek of Copperfield was filled with the things she loved most: the competitive spirit of bingo, the movement of physical therapy, and the warmth of a community that truly cherished her company.

A woman of profound devotion, Lillie poured her heart into her nine grandchildren and took immense pride in their accomplishments. Her legacy extends to her many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Lillie's love was both tender and fierce. As the eldest daughter of seven, she never stopped being the protective big sister, watching over her siblings with a commitment that lasted a lifetime. To her children, she was a formidable force of love and support. She was famous for her quick wit and a contagious spirit that ensured she was always the life of the party. Above all, Lillie will be remembered for her boundless generosity. She moved through the world with a servant's heart, offering help to neighbors and strangers alike, leaving behind a legacy of kindness that will never be forgotten.

Lillie is preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Mary Quinn, her husband, Bobby Ray Chapman, her daughter and son-in-law, Jan Ranae and Robert Lee Ignasiak, and her siblings, Manford Quinn, Mildred Childs, Katy Spears, Frank Quinn and Patsy Bagley.

Lillie is survived by her son Robert Ray Chapman Jr., daughter-in-law Gale Chapman and grandchildren Jamie, Shawn and Daniel Chapman; her granddaughters Susan Brummelhoff and Heather Castro; her son Ronald Keith Chapman, daughter-in-law Beth Chapman and grandson Keith Chapman; her daughter Mary Kaye Chapman Brosch, son-in-law Glen Brosch and grandchildren Kaylee, Morgan and Cooper Brosch; her beloved brother James Quinn; and numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

With heartfelt thanks, the family acknowledges the exceptional staff at Stonecreek of Copperfield, her medical care team, and friends. Your unwavering compassion and dedicated care filled Lillie's final year with comfort and joy. We will forever be grateful for the kindness you extended to her and to our family.

Friends are invited to celebrate Lillie's long and meaningful life on Monday, December 29, at Klein Funeral Home - CyFair Northwest,  9719 Wortham Blvd., Houston, TX 77065. A visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. The Rosary will begin at 9:30 a.m. with a funeral service to immediately follow at 10 a.m. A committal service will take place at 2 p.m., also on Monday, at Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Dr., Houston, TX 77038.
