Lillian Lamberth Gentry was born on August 2nd, 1931 in Milam, Texas to Myrtis and Lora Lamberth. She went to be with the Lord on March 25th, 2018 after a battle with illness. Lil is survived by her sons Steve Gentry, Craig Gentry and wife Katie; brother David Randall Lamberth; sisters Francine Nelson, Lita Guinn and husband Bart; niece Marilyn Skaf and husband Rashid; nephews Jeff Lamberth and wife Paula, Ross Lamberth, Wade Guinn and wife Sarah; grandnephews Christian Skaf, Luke Lamberth; grandniece Sydney Lamberth; grandson Jedediah Gentry; several great-grandchildren and many other close family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Myrtis Lamberth, mother, Lora Lamberth, sister-in-law Sheron Lamberth and Steve and Craig's father, John Gentry.  Lil was a strong and independent woman who raised two boys. She spent many years serving on various PTA boards, civic clubs, and the Spring Klein Little League Organization while her children were growing up. Lil loved to be involved in her community. Following in her mother's legacy, she served as an officer of The Order of the Eastern Star for many years. She was a longtime member of Spring Baptist Church. Lil also worked for Klein ISD as a secretary for 27 years before retiring but missed the students so much she returned for another 10 years.  When she wasn't serving her community, she loved to spend time with her family or her many pets. Hunting and fishing were some of her favorite activities and she made sure her boys grew up knowing the great outdoors – including boating, waterskiing and learning to enjoy all God had created. She looked forward each year to her family's cruise where she got to visit exciting places with the people that she loved the most. She loved celebrating Christmas at the "Creek" (her family's ranch) where she could spend time outdoors and have a bonfire with her family. Lil was also an avid fan of all Houston sports teams from the Texans and Astros to the Rockets and tried hard not to miss a game. She enjoyed Dr. Pepper and fried shrimp. If the weather was nice, you could be sure that Lil would be outside keeping a watch on the neighborhood and hanging out on the patio. Lil loved live music and really enjoyed when musicians would stop by the house to play – she was the mother figure to every musician who ever came over. She was blessed to have a herd of loving chickens in her backyard to keep her entertained as they wandered the yard. She loved to be involved in what was going on and did not just sit there and let life pass her by. Lil was very independent and had a strong spirit up to the end. She was loved by many and will be deeply missed.
