Lettie Jane Smith was born October 11, 1934 in McComb, Mississippi and passed away January 13, 2025 in Houston, Texas at the age of 90.

Lettie spent her early years in Mississippi, later relocating to Texas.  While growing up in Mississippi, her father ran a dairy farm where Lettie had vivid memories of enjoying ice cream and helping her father deliver milk. When Lettie was 15, her family moved to Cy-Fair, Texas where her father continued in the dairy industry.  She graduated from Orange Grove High School, Orange Grove, Texas in 1953.

On June 1, 1955, she married Donald Andrew Jackson in Corpus Christi, Texas. Don and Lettie had 3 children.  Lettie was an avid seamstress and a great cook.   She also sold Tupperware, Fuller Brush and worked in accounting.  Her life with Don was filled with worldwide travel since Don was in the Navy for 20 years.  Some of the places they lived were Newport RI, Great Lakes IL, Chula Vista CA, the Bonin Island of Chi Chi Jima, Yokahoma Japan, and Charleston SC.

After her first marriage ended Lettie married Wallace H. Smith in Richland, WA on October 6, 1980.  Wally was in the nuclear power industry; therefore, they lived in Washington, Ohio, Illinois and Georgia.  Wally and Lettie were very involved in their churches.  Upon retirement they moved to Houston to be close to family.

Lettie is predeceased by her parents Samuel K and Elva D Wilson, her brothers Kirby , Murray  and her sisters Helen and Vera Lee.

Lettie is survived by her children  and their spouses, Sharon  Robertson (David) Gary Jackson (Suellen) and John  Jackson (Lorenzina).  She has 5 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.

Lettie Smith will be laid to rest on January 24th, 2025 at Klein Memorial Park Cemetary. Sevices will be held in the chapel at 2pm. The address is 14711 FM 1488 Magnolia, Texas 77354.
