Nació el 29 de junio de 1948 en San Pedro Sula, Honduras,  sus padres Juan Antonio Umanzor y Georginia Matute Umanzor. La vida de Leticia estuvo marcada por su viaje de Honduras a los Estados Unidos, donde estableció su hogar en Houston y vivio por 46 años. Letty será recordada por ser una guerrera que lucho por su familia y su vida hasta el ultimo momento.

Le sobreviven sus tres hijos Mirna Turcios, Miriam Hernandez y Victor Mendoza, cinco nietos, tres bisnietos y sus hermanos.

Letty tu partiste, pero viviras por siempre en nuestra memoria y corazones por ser una persona carismatica.

She is survived by her three children Mirna Turcios, Miriam Hernández and Víctor Mendoza, five grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and her siblings.

Letty you are gone, but you will live forever in our memory and hearts for being a charismatic person.
