Obituary

Leticia (Letty) Rivera Kendrick of Houston, TX,  Age 73, loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother went to be with the Lord on August 30, 2020, after a 6 year battle with Parkinson's Dementia.

Letty was born in Brownsville, Tx on July 10, 1947 where she lived until she met her future husband (Sonny) and they eventually got married in 1965, and  moved to his hometown of Augusta, GA. to start a new life together, and that is where they birthed their two beautiful daughters Catherine and Rita.  While living in Georgia Letty was a Teachers Aid and President of the PTA at the school her daughters attended.  In 1980 her and her family moved to Houston, Texas. In Texas Letty became a Secretary up until 1988 , then she retired to a full time Domestic Engineer (Housewife) and helped raised her grandchildren that she loved so much. As her grandchildren grew older Letty became a Catholic Daughter at St. Maximilian Kolbe Catholic Church, and volunteered her extra time at the retirements homes for the Elderly  and loved playing games with them. Letty also volunteered at Star Hope with her daughters and grandchildren during the holidays to feed the less fortunate.  Each one of her grandchildren held a very special place in her heart, she was the absolute best Nana.  Her Husband, Daughters, Grandchildren, and Great-Grandchildren were her whole entire world; she was literally perfect in her families eyes.  Letty had the kindest heart out of anyone you could know, she was so well mannered and was never judgmental of anyone.   Some of Letty's favorite things to do were; hangout with family, shop, travel, and in her latter years was her puppy dog Susie Q – Her Little Bestfriend.

Letty is preceded in death by her parents, Moises and Katie Rivera, and her Sister Kathryn (Abel) Hinojosa and Nephew Kenny Savino.  Letty is survived by her husband of 55 years Thomas (Sonny) Kendrick, Daughters; Catherine Stephenson and Rita (Kevin) Pate. Grandchildren;  Richard Stephenson, Kelly Marie (Jarred) McCullar, Tommy (Tayler) Kendrick, Cameron Watkins. Great-Grandchildren; Jacoby, Levi, and Luke Stephenson, and Emma McCullar.  Letty is also survived by her siblings; Lulu Savino, Moe (Cindy) Rivera, Johnny Rivera, Gooley (Sandi) Rivera, Gloria (Kenny) Young, and Ricky (Connie) Rivera.
