Wilbur Leslie Golden, age 95, went home to be with the Lord on March 8, 2020. He was born on March 1, 1925 and grew up in Houston, Texas. He was preceded in death by his father, Lee Golden, mother, Velasta Golden, and older brother, Lee Roy Golden.

He was a long time member of Champion Forest Baptist Church, Jersey Village campus and knew the Lord as his savior.

Les married Bess Pollard on Christmas Eve, 1946, and they recently celebrated their 73rd wedding anniversary.

Les is survived by his wife Bess, their 2 sons, Larry Golden, and Danny Golden and wife Pat, 4 grandchildren, Kristin Garner and husband Justin, Amy Inthavong, Joanna Decker and husband Shane, and Justin Golden and wife Chloe; 5 great grandchildren, Anna and Dean Inthavong, Leah and Jace Garner, and Beau Golden.

Les Golden began a working career as a barber and later was employed as a technician at PetroTex Chemical Co. Ultimately, he went to night school and earned a real estate brokers license. He subsequently opened his own real estate office which he successfully ran for 30 years. Along with hunting and fishing, which was a big part of his life, he also enjoyed raising cattle at his ranch and growing a garden.

He always had a ready smile and kind word to any acquaintance. He was strong, tough, smart, and honorable. He was a terrific father and husband and will be greatly missed.

The Apostle John wrote in the book of Revelation about a time where the Lord will wipe every tear from their eyes, and there will no longer be any more death, no more sorrow or crying, no more pain, for these things have passed away. It is comforting to know that he is now in this place.
