Leonard C Kitzmann Jr. known by all as "Sonny" passed away peacefully at his home in Cypress Tx on February 5 ^th , 2023 after a long illness with his family by his side.

Sonny was born in Houston, Tx on October 24 ^th , 1943. He moved to Cypress Tx when he was 5 years old. He attended Cy-Fair Schools from 1 ^st grade on. He graduated from Cy-Fair High School in 1961. Sonny attended Sam Houston State College from 1961 to 1964 at which time he decided he wanted to be a police officer. Sonny joined the Houston Police Department on October 5 ^th , 1964, Academy Class #31. He was assigned to Special Operations, Central Division and Criminal Intelligence Division until he retired on February 9 ^th , 1990. He then joined the Harris County Sheriff's Department and served from May 27 ^th , 1991, until he fully retired on July 31 ^st , 2006.

Sonny's love of the outdoors was a big part of his life. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and spending time with family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his infant son L. Glenn Kitzmann.

Sonny is survived by his wife Jimmie Kitzmann, his daughter Shannon Rogers, Son-in-law Kenny Rogers, Grandchildren Seth Kennedy, Haley Kennedy, Cassie Rogers. His son Chad Kitzmann, daughter-in-law Bridgette and granddaughters Makynzie and Lyndzie. His sister Patsy Kitzman Morse, her husband Earl Morse, Niece Alisa Morse, Nephew Douglas Morse, his wife Elizabete and their daughter, his grandniece Alice Morse. As well as a host of extended family and lifelong friends.
