Obituary

Lena Faye Hearn Dupree, 82, left to be with her Savior on June 12, 2017. Her devotion to her family and her firm belief in God was her rock through the previous 2 months since a fall that left her paralyzed.

Faye was born to the late Howell and Effie Hearn, on April 14, 1935 in Eldorado, AR. She grew up in Eldorado and went to the University of Arkansas for one year before going to Louisiana State University. While there she received her degree in accounting and met her husband Ivy Clayton Dupree, Jr. They were married a year before Clayton graduated and then a couple of years later moved to Houston, Texas.

Faye and Clayton adopted their son Don in 1965 and their daughter Sarah in 1967. Faye raised her two children with patience, discipline, humility & faith. Faye taught them to love the Lord and to serve Him by serving the body of Christ at church. In 1972, Faye and Clayton moved into the Prestonwood subdivision, where they found and joined Houston Northwest Memorial Baptist Church as it began meeting in homes and elementary schools. Faye was very involved with the senior adults, watching after the widows of the church in her role as a deacon's wife. Faye worked for several CPA's, but best loved her time working on staff with the many co-workers she calls friends at Houston Northwest Memorial Church as well as Houston's First Baptist Church. Faye had been retired for several years and spent her time caring for her husband Clayton and keeping up with her family and friends.

Faye was a servant and friend at heart. She was kind, soft-spoken and always had time to talk or help, no matter how small the problem. She is dearly missed by her loved ones, who celebrate the fact that she is now at peace with her creator.

Faye is survived by her husband Ivy Clayton Dupree, Jr; her son Donald Dupree and wife Marsha; her daughter Sarah Dupree; grandchildren, Kendra and husband J.T. Hallmark, and Miller B. Walker IV. She is also survived by great grandchildren, Samantha Walker, Sarina and John Hallmark; her brother, John Hearn, and her many nephews, nieces, grandnephews and grandnieces. She is preceded in death by her sister, Curtis Bolding; brother, Robert Hearn; and her parents.

The visitation will be on Tuesday, June 20, 2017, 5:00 – 8:00pm. at Klein Funeral Home-Tomball
