LeRoy "Lee" Gottlieb Stoecker, 83
Died June 11, 2021 in Houston, Texas
Lee was born in South Dakota August 5, 1937 and raised in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He was a gymnast and swim captain during high school years. He attended officer's candidate school with the US National Guard and the University of Minnesota, majoring in Business. While a Sergeant Major, Lee led the marching band for the Minneapolis Aquatennial Parade for several years.
After a successful management career in the corporate world, Lee found his vocation with the Knights of Columbus, both as an insurance agent (retired 2013) and with a fulfilling life of service through the fraternal order.
Married for 64 years, Lee and his wife Kathleen traveled much of the world and engaged in many charitable organizations including the Special Olympics. He is a lifetime member of the Forth Degree Knights of Columbus and invested into the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulcher of Jerusalem.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Ted and Anna Stoecker, brother Arnie and youngest daughter Jennifer.
Memorial services include a vigil, June 22, 7 pm and a funeral mass, June 23, 11 am, both at St. Ignatius Loyola Catholic Community in Houston, followed by a to be announced reception.
