Elwin Lee Chapman, 76, of Tomball, passed away December 26, 2019.  He was born August 9, 1943, in Houston to the late Leon Chapman and Marie Miller Chapman.

He is survived by his sons, Russell Chapman and wife Jenny, and Steven Chapman and wife Martha Christian; grandchildren, Blake Chapman, Kayla Chapman, Spencer Chapman, Colby Christian, and Casey Christian; and nephews Bruce Chapman, and Brian Chapman.

Preceded in death by his parents, Leon and Marie Chapman, his brother, Jerry Chapman and sister-in-law Fran Chapman.

Lee was a longtime Tomball area resident and business owner. As a teen, he began his automotive career as a hobby, eventually becoming the owner of his own successful body shop, Tomball Paint and Body, which he ran for over 30 years.  Lee had a strong work ethic and was a master at anything mechanical and loved restoring/repairing classic automobiles. His amazing skills were showcased on many cars including a memorable T-Bird which won Best in Show.

Apart from owning his company, Lee enjoyed visiting and socializing with his family and friends. He was a proud son, brother, father, grandfather and uncle. The time he spent with family was full of laughter, storytelling, dominoes and card games.

He lived life to the fullest.  Always one for a laugh, he would turn his hat sideways or make funny faces when posing for pictures.  He never just said a simple hello when he called, it was always, "What's going on over there?" in his Texas accent.  Another of his frequent sayings was "Another perfect job. This one here and one more will make two perfect jobs."

Other interests and hobbies include country music, antiques, old currency, and pretty much anything to do with history. Woodworking, violin restoration, deer hunting and poker tournaments were additional pastimes.
